There were joyous scenes at the Hearts of Oak training grounds as players and technical staff formed a guard of honour to celebrate goalkeeper Benjamin Asare and equipment officer Abdul Rahman Alhassan for their role in helping the Ghana Black Stars qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The duo received a warm reception as they rejoined the squad ahead of Hearts’ upcoming Ghana Premier League clash against Berekum Chelsea this weekend.
Asare, who is currently Ghana’s first-choice goalkeeper, missed Monday’s 0-0 draw with Heart of Lions after keeping goal for the Black Stars in their 1-0 win over Comoros on Sunday, a result that secured Ghana’s place at next year’s World Cup in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
The moment captured on video showed jubilant teammates applauding the pair as they walked through the guard of honour before resuming training, highlighting the club’s pride in their contribution to national success.
Our players and technical staff joined in congratulating our very own goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare and equipment officer Abdul Rahman Alhassan for helping the Ghana Black Stars qualify to the 2026 FIFA World Cup! ????????????
