Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo has credited his faith in God for his scintillating form this season after another standout performance in Bournemouth’s 3-1 win over Fulham on Friday night.
The 25-year-old produced a masterclass at the Vitality Stadium, scoring twice and assisting once as the Cherries came from behind to secure victory and climb to second place in the Premier League, just a point behind leaders Liverpool.
Speaking after the match, Semenyo reflected on his journey and the source of his success. “Yeah, I’d like to think so,” he told the BBC when asked if this was the best form of his career.
“I thank God massively. He’s played a massive part in my life and I’m just reaping the rewards now. So yeah, I thank him always.”
Semenyo’s first goal was a moment of brilliance as he raced past defenders down the left flank before slotting the ball through Bernd Leno’s legs.
He then assisted Justin Kluivert’s goal and sealed the win with a clinical left-footed finish in stoppage time.
The Ghanaian has now scored six league goals this season â second only to Manchester City’s Erling Haaland â and has been directly involved in 12 goals since May, more than any other player in the Premier League.
