Black Princesses winger Ivy Osei Owusu has stressed that the team is determined to do everything to secure qualification to the FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup next year.
The teenager was part of the Ghana U20 side that secured a 2-0 victory over the Tunisia U20 team last weekend in the first leg of their tie in the second qualification round.
Speaking to Sporty FM ahead of the reverse fixture of the tie in Ghana, Ivy Osei Owusu admitted that, despite the win in Tunisia, there is room for improvement in the performance of the team.
She assured Ghanaians that players are keen on fighting to win every game to make the qualification to the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup possible.
“We have been training, and we are really preparing. We have won, but that doesn’t mean we have to relax. We are just working hard so that we take a win in the second leg too.
“There is more room for improvement, so we are preparing so that we can win every game so that we can qualify for the World Cup,” Ivy Osei Owusu said.
The second leg clash between Ghana and Tunisia is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 28.
