Bibiani Goldstars have reached a verbal agreement with experienced tactician Maxwell Konadu to take over the club coaching job, Kessben FM has reported.
The Miners are currently without a substantive manager following the sacking of Frimpong Manso after defeat to JS Kabylie in the CAF Champions League preliminary round.
The Ghanaian champions faces an uphill task in their maiden continental campaign, following their 2-0 defeat to the Algerian outfit at the Accra Sports Stadium last Saturday.
Despite reaching an agreement, the former Black Stars assistant coach has yet to put pen to paper for the miners and will not travel with the team for the return leg.
The 52-year-old previously handled Asante Kotoko, Legon Cities, Nsoatreman FC, and the Black Stars B, winning the WAFU Cup of Nations in 2017.
His proven track record in Ghanaian football makes him a strong candidate to steer the Miners as they seek to defend their league crown and compete on the continental stage.
The former Black Leopards coach is expected to take full charge of the team after their game against JS Kabylie in Algeria this weekend.
Bibiani Goldstars will depart Ghana for the crunch reverse fixture on Thursday and Friday. The first batch of the team will leave Accra on Thursday before the second joins on Friday.
