The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has organised a one-day training workshop for Division One League (DOL) Match Commissioners as part of preparations for the 2025/26 season. The programme was held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025.
General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo, in his welcome address, commended the Commissioners for their sacrifices and commitment to the growth of domestic football. He urged them to carry forward the lessons from the workshop into the new campaign.
The sessions covered a wide range of topics, including amendments to the Laws of the Game, integrity, use of the Competition Management System (CMS), report writing, and the evolving role of the modern Match Commissioner. Participants were also trained on how to conduct effective technical meetings.
GFA President Kurt Okraku, addressing the Commissioners, underlined the importance of diligence and professionalism in their work.
“Last year, I met you here and assured you of the FA's commitment to developing football, and I’m glad we’re beginning to see improvements in our domestic league. When you work well, we will reward you accordingly,” he said.
He further called on them to uphold integrity and accuracy in their reports: “Let’s do the right things â sending accurate reports and doing a good job for the FA and the football ecosystem. We’ve invested a lot in the sport, and I believe we’ll soon see the results.”
Head of IT, Francis Essah Adu, also took participants through the effective use of the CMS for filing match reports.
The 2025/26 Access Bank Division One League season kicks off this weekend, from Friday, September 26, to Monday, September 29, across all three zones.
