
The University of Development Studies continue to impressive form at the World University Games after becoming the first African school to reach the semi-final of the competition following a thumping victory over South Korea's Kyungil University.
Having reached the last eight of the tournament after topping Group C, the Ghanaian institution wasted no time in establishing their intention of advancing to the semis after Augustine Frimpong opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a fine strike.
Alhassan Zakaria doubled the advantage five minutes before adding his second on the half hour mark following a dominant spell from UDS.
The South Koreans were awoken from their slumber, pulling one back just before the break.
Five minutes after the break, Frimpong nodded home his second of the day to effectively put the game beyond the Asian giants.
Kyungil put up a fight to halve the deficit later in the game but UDS added another with nine minutes remaining through striker Frimpong, who completed a memorable game with a hat-trick.
