Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has expressed confidence that Ghana can overcome Mali in Monday’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier to cement their position at the top of Group I.
Speaking ahead of the game at the Accra Sports Stadium, Addo said his team remains in control of their qualification destiny and must seize the opportunity to extend their lead.
“As long as we have it in our own hands, I’m very, very positive. And we have to still keep it in our own hands. And for this, we have to win tomorrow,” he stated.
Ghana currently lead Group I with 16 points, one ahead of Comoros and three clear of Madagascar. A victory against Mali would not only keep them top but also strengthen their push for a place at next year’s World Cup in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
