Leicester City manager Marti Cifuentes has heaped praise on Abdul Fatawu Issahaku following the Foxes’ 2-0 victory over Birmingham City, securing their third win of the 2025-26 English Football League Championship season.
Issahaku opened the scoring in the eighth minute, marking his second goal in as many games and sending a clear signal that he is regaining form after more than six months sidelined with an ACL injury.
His performance has impressed Cifuentes, who highlighted the winger’s determination and improving fitness.
“Abdul [Fatawu Issahaku], it’s good news for all of us that he is showing he’s fit, that he wants more and more every game, and both of them will be very important for us," Cifuentes told Leicester City media.
The 21-year-old now has two goals in four league appearances this season.
Despite his strong start, he will miss Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali.
Leicester will be hoping the youngster maintains his fitness as they continue their strong start to the season.
He is expected to feature again when the Foxes travel to face Oxford United at the Kassam Stadium after the international break.
