Hearts of Oak have completed the signing of promising defensive midfielder Kelvin Appiah on a three-year contract from Kumasi Kwadaso-based juvenile side Team Grace Sporting Club.
The deal was finalised last Thursday, just a day before FIFA’s transfer ban on the club took effect, allowing the Phobians to register the teenager in time for the upcoming campaign.
Appiah, 17, is regarded as one of the brightest talents in his age group and is expected to inject energy and steel into Hearts’ midfield ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.
Officials of Team Grace SC, who play their home matches at the Ohwimase LA Primary School Park, described the youngster as a “gifted player” with the potential for an early breakthrough in the top flight.
With his arrival, Hearts of Oak will be hoping Appiah quickly adapts to life in the Premier League and develops into a long-term asset for the club as they bid to challenge strongly in the new season.
