President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has assured that his administration will use the $2 million sponsorship from MTN judiciously to ensure the country’s football enjoys its full benefits.
In an official communique on Thursday, the GFA said MTN Ghana has sealed a landmark sponsorship agreement with the Association, becoming the headline sponsor for all four of the country’s national football teams.
The teams include the Black Stars, Black Queens, Black Satellites, Black Starlets and the Elite Under-19 Championship for the next two years.
The partnership, valued at $2 million, was officially signed at a colourful ceremony held at the MTN House in Accra and will run until August 2027.
According to the FA, the deal aims to provide vital financial and logistical support to aid the teams’ development, training and preparations for upcoming competitions.
Speaking at the ceremony, Kurt Okraku said, “We will judiciously use these resources. We will keep this partnership alive. We will play our part. And we will ensure that we stand shoulder to shoulder with MTN Ghana in good times and bad, as we strive to bring hope and livelihood to our young boys and girls who would not normally be found in the woods of Ghana.”
The President of the Ghana FA further expressed appreciation to MTN Ghana for their continuous support for the country’s football.
