Majeed Ashimeru remains in limbo at Anderlecht, as a reported transfer to St. Pauli is false.
Reports from Belgium’s La Derniere Heure and Het Nieuwsblad suggested the Ghanaian midfielder was bound for the Bundesliga 2 side, but Anderlecht quickly shut down the claims.
The speculation, which gained traction through social media, seemed to gain weight with figures quoted in the region of â¬3 million plus â¬1.5 million in bonuses. It would have been a surprising fee for a player who has struggled with form and fitness since his move to Brussels.
Still, Anderlecht insists there has been no offer. Ashimeru, who joined for â¬2.5 million in total, is no longer in the club’s plans. The hope was to move him on and recoup a portion of their investment. But with no firm interest materializing, both player and club are stuck.
The midfielder’s future remains uncertain as the clock ticks down on the transfer window, leaving fans and insiders wondering where he goes from here.
