Arsenal forward Michelle Agyemang has been named among the nominees for the 2025 Women’s Kopa Trophy, marking another milestone in a breakthrough year for the teenage sensation.
Born in England to Ghanaian parents, Agyemang has emerged as one of the brightest young prospects in European football, with her heritage drawing considerable attention and pride from Ghanaian fans.
The 19-year-old played a pivotal role in England’s triumphant Euro 2025 campaign, where she was named Young Player of the Tournament following a decisive semifinal strike against Germany.
Agyemang is joined on the prestigious list by Colombia’s Linda Caicedo of Real Madrid and Spain’s Vicky López of Barcelona.
The trio headline a group of the world’s top under-21 female footballers, revealed at 11:02 AM GMT on August 7 by organisers of the Ballon d’Or.
Arsenal’s commitment to nurturing young female talent has once again paid off, as Agyemang continues to make headlines for her pace, composure, and powerful finishing â traits that have earned her comparisons with former England striker Ellen White.
The Women’s Kopa Trophy, introduced in 2022, is voted on by past Ballon d’Or Féminin winners and recognises outstanding young talent across both club and international football.
Past recipients include Salma Paralluelo and Alessia Russo, who have since become fixtures at the highest level.
