
The Accra Sports Stadium will be match-ready for Ghana’s upcoming World Cup qualifier against Mali, according to National Sports Authority director general Yaw Ampofo Ankrah.
The experienced sports administrator assured fans that preparations are in full swing to ensure a world-class experience when the Black Stars host Mali on September 8, 2025.
Before the Mali game, Coach Otto Addo’s side will travel to N’Djamena to face Chad on September 4 at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno. Both matches are vital for Ghana’s hopes of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana currently leads Group I with 15 points, maintaining a 3-point gap over Comoros and staying 5 points ahead of Madagascar. The team has secured five wins and suffered only one defeat in six matches.
Kick-off against Chad is set for 13:00 GMT, while the Mali game under the Accra lights will begin at 19:00 GMT.
