Major League Soccer side, FC Cincinnati, are set to acquire the services of Ghanaian midfielder Samuel Gidi.
The 21-year-old is expected to join Cincinnati via the U22 initiative for a fee reported to be in the region of around $2 million.
His arrival means Cincinnati would not have to forfeit a place in the first team despite the exit of some key players.
According to reports, Corey Baird will be joining San Diego for General Allocation Money of $100,000 as Cincinnati edge close to completing Gidi's move.
The former Zilina Africa player has made over 100 appearances for his European club and leaves for the United States with enormous experience.
FC Cincinnati have struggled to fix their problematic midfield positions but Gidi's imminent signing is believed to be the antidote for their troubles.
Gidi, who currently plays for Slovakian side MSK Zilina, has been on the radar of several clubs with Turkish side Trabzonspor close to securing his services in February 2025.
