Berekum Chelsea forward Emmanuel Sarpong has officially begun pre-season training with the club ahead of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season, ending speculation about a potential transfer to Hearts of Oak.
Sarpong, who was heavily linked with a move to the Accra-based giants earlier in the transfer window, has now committed to staying at Chelsea for the new campaign.
The proposed deal with Hearts is now completely off the table, with sources confirming that talks between the two clubs failed to reach a final agreement.
The striker was spotted in training with his Chelsea teammates this week, looking sharp and motivated as the team ramps up preparations for the new season. His presence is a big boost for the Berekum side, who face a tough opening fixture against Asante Kotoko.
Sarpong, one of Chelsea’s standout performers last season, is expected to play a key role once again under Coach Samuel Boadu. The club is determined to improve on last season’s performance, and keeping hold of their top talent is a major statement of intent.
With the Hearts deal off, Sarpong now shifts full focus to leading Chelsea’s attack when the league kicks off in September.
