Black Stars forward Andre Dede Ayew has held a private meeting with Ghanaian business magnate Ibrahim Mahama to discuss life beyond football and his growing interest in entrepreneurship. The meeting took place on Sunday, August 3, 2025.
The 35-year-old, now a free agent after his release from French Ligue 1 side Le Havre, is looking to transition into the business world, with a particular focus on Ghana’s mining sector.
He sought guidance from Mahama, one of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs, on how to approach and navigate the challenges of the industry.
Ayew, who has long expressed an interest in entrepreneurship, is believed to be considering investments in Ghana’s indigenous mining operations.
After the meeting, the pair were captured in a cheerful moment on video, with Ayew jokingly claiming Mahama would triple his money.

His business ambitions come just days after Le Havre confirmed his departure with a tribute that acknowledged his leadership and contribution during a tough spell for the club.
Ayew scored nine goals in 49 appearances and played a key role in helping the side retain their Ligue 1 status.
Having played for nine clubs across Europe and Asia, Ayew now seems intent on writing a new chapter—this time in the world of business.
