Chief Executive Officer of Nations FC, Kennedy Boakye Ansah, has thrown his weight behind plans to extend the Ghana Football Association (GFA) presidential term limit from two to three terms.
The proposal comes after the GFA confirmed it had received approval from FIFA to amend its statutes to align with the practice at both FIFA and CAF level.
If adopted, the move could pave the way for current GFA President Kurt Okraku â who is in his second term â to potentially serve a third term, extending his stay beyond the existing eight-year cap.
Speaking to Sporty FM, Boakye Ansah said he sees nothing wrong with granting Okraku the opportunity to serve another term.
“I don't think it's a bad idea for Kurt Okraku to have a third term,” he said. “That is my opinion.”
The proposed amendment is expected to be tabled at the GFA Congress on August 12, 2025, where member associations will decide on its adoption.
