Former Hearts of Oak midfielder Daniel Kodie has been named the club's assistant welfare manager.
The 31-year-old will work with Henry Martey, the welfare manager, joining the the technical bench of the Ghanaian giants.
Kodie, who spent most of his career with the Phobians, worked with the club's youth team, Auroras, before his promotion to the senior side.
Hearts released a statement confirming his appointment, posting: "Accra Hearts of Oak have confirmed the promotion of Daniel Kodie from their youth side, Auroras FC, to the senior team’s technical set-up ahead of the new football season.
"Kodie will serve as the Assistant Welfare Manager to Henry Martey, marking another important chapter in his journey with the club.
"A true Phobian, Kodie joined the club initially as a promising footballer, but his career on the pitch was sadly cut short due to injury. The club fully funded his surgery in South Africa. Undeterred, his passion for the game and love for the club saw him take on a new role behind the scenes.
"He was reassigned to Auroras FC, the club’s youth team, where he served diligently as an Assistant Welfare Manager. Beyond his welfare duties, Kodie was actively involved in supporting the technical team, often lending his football knowledge and tactical insights to the development of young players."
The club continued: "His promotion to the senior team is a testament to his unwavering commitment, discipline, and deep understanding of the club’s values.
"As he steps into his new role with the senior side, Daniel Kodie will be expected to bring the same energy and dedication that have characterized his journey so far.
"Hearts of Oak fans will no doubt welcome this move, as it reflects the club’s commitment to building from within and rewarding loyalty and hard work. Kodie’s presence in the senior team setup promises to strengthen the support system around the players for the coming season."
