Former Nations FC midfielder Abdul Karim is expected to arrive in Accra on Monday to begin formal negotiations with Hearts of Oak, as the Phobians look to strengthen their midfield options ahead of the new season.
Karim, who recently parted ways with Nations FC after a solid campaign in the Ghana Premier League, has emerged as a priority target for Hearts as they continue their rebuild under coach Didi Dramani.
Sources close to the club indicate that Hearts are eager to finalise talks swiftly, having already informed the player that he is part of their 2025/26 project.
Karim is seen as a versatile and experienced midfielder who can add composure, work rate, and tactical flexibility to the team’s midfield.
However, Karela United are also keeping close tabs on the situation and could enter the race should negotiations with Hearts stall. The Aiyinase-based club sees Karim as a valuable addition to their midfield engine room, especially after losing a few key players this transfer window.
With the transfer window approaching its climax, the next few days will be crucial in determining where Abdul Karim lands. As of now, all eyes are on Accra, where the player’s immediate future could be decided.
