Black Queens forward Princella Adubea has opened up on criticisms received as a female footballer.
The WAFCON bronze-winning forward played a key role as the Black Queens finished on the podium at the 2024 Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
Adubea, one of Ghana's best product from her youthful days with the Black Princesses, battled injuries affecting her quick rise to the senior national team.
However, the former Racing Santander player recovered from the setbacks, becoming an influential figure in the Black Queens.
In an interview with Sporty FM, Adubea disclosed that she was heavily criticised while trying to get back to her best during her days in Techiman with Ampem Darkoa Ladies.
“I remember in a game against Fabulous and things did not go well. The fans criticised me, claiming I have found and boyfriend after spotting me on a motor with a man. They said I am not focused and a whole lot," she said.
Adubea added she has now developed a tough skin and does not allow such comments wear her down.
The Abu Dhabi Country Club striker scored a goal at the Women's Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
