Sarkodie to stage Rapperholic at Baba Yara Stadium amid concerns over pitch readiness

Ghanaian rapper Sarkodies flagship Rapperholic Concert will be held at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on September 27, 2025, marking a first in Kumasi but raising concerns among football stakeholders.While fans in the Ashanti Region are excited about the event, questions have been raised about the timing and venue. The stadium has been proposed for Asante Kotoko and Bibiani Gold Stars CAF inter-club matches, pending final approval from the Confederation of African Football (CAF). A recent history of pitch damage and temporary bans from CAF has heightened fears about the surfaces readiness for upcoming games.Despite the unease, preparations are underway following Sarkodies visit to the Manhyia Palace on Friday, July 18, to seek the blessing of Otumfuo Osei Tutu II. The Asantehene welcomed him warmly and pledged to attend the show.
