Ronald Donkor inspires New York Red Bulls in comeback win with brace of assists against New England
[caption id=attachment_1251410 align=alignnone width=612] HARRISON, NEW JERSEY - JULY 16: Alhassan Yusuf #80 of the New England Revolution[/caption]Ghanaian midfielder Ronald Donkor produced one of his best performances for MLS outfit New York Red Bulls to inspire them from two goals down to a 5-3 victory over New England Revolution on Wednesday evening.New York Red Bulls were two goals down at the break before Donkor starred with two assists, with his first starting a spirited fightback from the hosts.The visitors got off to a great start after Leonardo Campana opened the scoring just five minutes into the match before Kyle Duncan netted an own goal to double New England's advantage. In between the two strikes was a goal ruled out by the VAR to deny New England a third in the first half.However, after the break, Donkor served Daniel Edelman with a fine assist to pull one back before Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting levelled with 20 minutes remaining.Emil Forsberg gave New York Red Bulls the lead two minutes later before Choupo-Moting finished off another Donkor assist to doubled their advantage.Forsberg put the game beyond New England with Red Bulls' fifth from the spot.Late in injury time, Campana scored again to reduce the deficit for the visitors at the Red Bull Arena.Donkor's compatriot Mohammed Sofo played 71 minutes before he was replaced by Dennis Gjengaar.
