Ghana U20 head coach Desmond Ofei has praised his players for showing resilience and determination in their 1-0 victory over Benin in the WAFU B U20 Championship.The Black Satellites secured a spot in the semi-finals with the narrow win on Wednesday at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram.A second-half goal from Bless Ege proved decisive, as Ghana edged out the Young Cheetahs in a tense encounter.Head coach Desmond Ofei commended the character shown by his boys after playing the entire second half with ten players.Its a hard-fought victory, he said in the post-match press conference. Honestly, we needed the win, so we had to show some character, and the boys showed that today... luckily we came away with a good goal and that led to the three points.The result sees Ghana finish second in Group A on goal difference, setting up a semi-final clash with the winner of Group B.Ofei, who also serves as assistant coach for the senior national team, stressed the importance of maintaining focus ahead of the next stage as the Black Satellites seek to reclaim regional dominance at youth level.
