He eventually made 11 appearances, scoring two goals for the Black Stars.During Frimpong's time with the national team, the Black Stars consistently reached the knockout stages of international tournaments. However, the current team has not been able to go beyond the group stage of their last three competitions and failed to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.According to the former BSC Young Boys star, the current crop of players care more about their clubs than the national team. The difference between our time and the current crop of players was our commitment and the zeal to die for Ghana. The players of today are fond of their clubs more than Ghana, he told Sikka Sports. The Black Stars are however on the verge of qualifying for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America after six qualifying matches.
