Ghanaian midfielder Moritz-Broni Kwarteng sidelined indefinitely with knee injury
German-Ghanaian forward Moritz-Broni Kwarteng is set to for a lengthy spell on the sideline following an injury setback at training.The 27-year-old, who is in the books of German outfit Vfl Bochum sustained a lateral collateral ligament injury to his knee during training on Friday, ruling him out of action for an indefinite period.Kwarteng will not travel with the team for the preseason training tour scheduled to take place in Scheffau, Austria as he is expected to miss the preparation period for the upcoming 2025/26 Bundesliga campaign.The injury come as a huge setback for Bochum as the club gear up for the new season. Kwarteng had been expected to play a central role in Bochums tactical setup for the new season.Known for his versatility and creativity in the final third, the attacking midfielder had shown promise last season and was tipped to be a key figure in Bochums midfield engine.Bochums medical team has yet to determine the full extent of the damage to Kwartengs knee.However, injuries to the lateral collateral ligament can often result in several weeks, or even months, on the sidelines depending on severity.Meanwhile, the clubs sporting director Dirk Dufnerhas has offered support to the Ghanaian midfielder following the injury setback.We will provide Momo with the best possible medical support and closely accompany him during his rehab.
