Accra Lions star Jacob Awoute completes move to UAE side Baniyas
Accra Lions midfielder Jacob Gildas Awoute has joined UAE topflight club FC Baniyas.The talented and versatile midfielder signed a deal to join Baniyas in the transfer window following an outstanding campaign with the Accra-based club.Awoute was Lions' shining star during an ill-fated campaign which saw the exciting and youthful side demoted from the Ghana Premier League.Despite the struggles of the club, Awoute shone as he featured in 31 matches, scoring two goals and winning multiple Man of the Match awards, including in the 3-0 victory over Asante Kotoko.Baniyas Club announces the signing of the player Jacob Oti, a 20-year-old midfielder, coming from Ghana's Accra Lions Club, to be registered in the residents' category. The contract was signed in the presence of Mr. Saqr Al-Maskari, the Executive Director of the Football Company, wrote Baniyas confirming the youngster's arrival.Awoute will travel to Serbia to join his new teammates as pre-season begins ahead of the new season.The Ghanaian midfielder is expected to play a huge role at Baniyas in the 2025/26 season.
