Ghana star Mohammed Kudus set for Tottenham move after £55m agreement with West Ham
Mohammed Kudus is heading to Tottenham after the north London club reached an agreement with West Ham United for his transfer.The deal is worth around 55 million, according to The Athletic, with the Ghana international expected to undergo a medical on Thursday before signing a six-year contract.Kudus, 24, is open to leaving West Ham and has prioritised a move to Spurs. Personal terms are not expected to pose any problems. Tottenham had an initial 50 million bid rejected but returned with an improved offer that has now been accepted.His current contract at West Ham, which runs until 2028, contains a release clause that is only active during the first 10 days of July. The clause is set at 80 million for clubs outside England, 85 million for Premier League sides, and 120 million for Saudi Arabian teams. Spurs have moved swiftly within this window to secure the player at a lower fee.Kudus joined West Ham from Ajax in 2023 for 41.5 million and had an encouraging debut season in the Premier League. He registered eight goals and nine assists in all competitions. Last season, he made 35 league appearances, contributing five goals and four assists.Tottenham see Kudus as a major boost to their midfield and attack, with manager Thomas Frank keen to add more creativity and dynamism to the squad ahead of the new season.
