Unaware of the severity, he continued training and playing matches without symptoms. However, days later, he began experiencing sharp pains in his lungs, especially at night.I didn't feel anything initially, but after a recovery session, I noticed discomfort when breathing, he recounted. I reported it to the doctor, and he gave me some medicine. I played another friendly game, but when I got home, the pain intensified at midnight. I was lucky to reach the team doctor and a physio, who rushed to my house and took me to the hospital.Initial scans failed to detect the problem, but his condition worsened, leading to further tests in Milan, where doctors discovered the blood clots. He was ruled out for three months and placed on medication. After three months, I was cleared to play again, but soon after, COVID-19 struck, and Italy went into lockdown. It was a difficult time because I was alone, he added. The former Black Stars midfielder, who retired from international football, described the ordeal as terrifying, admitting that if medical help had not arrived on time, the situation could have been fatal.Agyemang-Badu, who played a key role in Ghana's 2010 Africa Cup of Nations and FIFA World Cup campaigns, remains active in club football. He scored the winning goal that secured Ghana the U-20 World Cup in 2009.
