Ghanas Minister-designate for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has raised concerns about the future of Black Stars head coach Otto Addo, following Ghanas failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).Addo has faced widespread criticism from fans and football stakeholders, yet the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council recently voted to retain him as head coach.Speaking on Sporty FM, Adams acknowledged the growing uncertainty around Addos position, emphasizing that doubts extend beyond just the fanbase.Players and members of the GFA - both past and present - have also expressed concerns.The future of Otto Addo is a matter of concern to me, Adams stated.This concern of stay or not stay is not just coming from the non-playing body; that is what is of great concern to me. Not just the fans, but the engagements I have had go beyond that to even the playing body and some members of GFA (current and former).In an attempt to improve the Black Stars performance ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers, Addos technical team has recently undergone a revamp.Adams, who appeared before Parliaments Appointments Committee for vetting on January 30, 2025, is set to be sworn in as the Minister of Sports and Recreation in the coming days.His leadership, alongside the backing of the GFA, will be essential in restoring confidence and stability within the Black Stars' camp as they prepare for future competitions.
