Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko in his patriotic spirit came out showing his solidarity with Harambee Stars as his over 150 buses ferried fans to Kasarani stadium.
Governor Sonko joined the team coordinating the free transport for the fans to cheer Kenya in the crucial match against Ethiopia.
He pledged to give the team Ksh3 Million should they win against Ethiopia who held them to a 0-0 draw earlier on Wednesday.
The governor, carrying bundles of Ksh200 notes, dished out money to the fans saying the token was meant to cater for their lunch given they were being ferried to the stadium four hours before the Ethiopian clash.
Kasarani stadium opened gates to the anxious fans who started streaming in as early as 9:00 a.m with various leaders posting goodwill messages to the team on social media.
In 2004, Kenya played in the AFCON with Jacob Ghost Mulee being the first and only Kenyan coach to have taken Harambee Stars to the African Cup Of Nations.
