Jonathan Mensah and Columbus Crew intensifying training despite 14-day break

Defender Jonathan Mensah says Columbus Crew have not slowed down in training although the MLS side will not be back in action until 15 September.

The Black and Gold will to Texas to face FC Dallas in their next MLS match since defeating New York City FC last Saturday at home.

Columbus Crew are tipped to make the MLS Cup playoffs as they sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference.

They are 10 points ahead of the New England Revolution, who are the conference's seventh place team.

''We're still preparing very hard although we don't have a game this weekend and this is the right mentality because if we take four of five days off and don't play, that's going to affect us in the future,'' Mensah said.
