Division One League Zone III: Accra Lions FC pip Amidaus to ease relegation fears

Accra Lions pulled further away from the relegation zone after a 1-0 win over Amidaus Professionals at the Tema Sports Stadium in a Division One League Zone III fixture on Thursday.

Captain Abubakar Sadiq powerful drilled in a free-kick at the edge of the box to seal the much-needed points in the fifth minute.

It looks like the day belonged to Lions after scoring under one minute but the goal was shockingly disallowed for offside.

Kofi Afriyie Asante, playing in an advanced role on the left wing this time, fired home from  long range into the net but assistant 1 Yusif Jafaru had his flag up.

Amidaus had a clear opportunity to level to equalize but striker Suleman, unmarked inside the box, headed wide in the 38th minute

But the plaudits will go to goalkeeper Asiedu whose injury time save to direct Suleman's header for a corner kick won the points for Lions.
