
President of Uganda Football Federation Moses Hassim Mongogo has intimidated that are not under pressure to beat Ghana in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier at the Mandela National Stadium on Saturday.
The upcoming encounter may define Ghana's ambitions of making it to yet another global football mundial.
The four time Africa champions chances of qualifying to a fourth successive FIFA World Cup hangs in a balance as Egypt , who are occupying the summit of the log only need a win against Congo to book a place.
But the dynamics of the group could change should the Black Stars record a win against Uganda and Egypt fail to pick maximum points against Congo in Alexandria.
And in an interview with Otec FM, Uganda FA chief says the pressure in on Ghana as they have no priority in making to their debut FIFA World Cup.
"The match is important to the black Stars than us, therefore we (Uganda) don’t have any pressure on us like our Ghanaian counterparts."
“Pressure is on the Black Stars because they need a win to qualify, but for us, a qualification is a bonus for our preparation,” he added.
Mongogo disclosed that the Cranes are always motivated playing against the Black Stars even if it is a friendly game.
“We will celebrate our Christmas in September if we beat Ghana and Congo,”
He revealed that the Ugandan government financed all their matches except their game against Egypt, adding that, "I believe we have the ability to beat any African team on Ugandan soil."
