Malmo midfielder Kinglsey Sarfo has been handed his first Ghana start as he is in the Black Stars starting line-up to face Uganda on Saturday, ending any hopes of Sweden capping the talented playmaker.
The Malmo playmaker has been given a place in the Black Stars team just fours days after joining the national team for the first time.
The 22-year-old has impressed coach Kwesi Appiah who has now repaid the tricky dribbler's efforts with a place in the line up.
The talented player will be making his first appearance for Ghana at any level having opted to play for his country of birth rather than Sweden who were courting him.
Sarfo will play from the right side of midfield even though it is not his favourite position as he is mainly played as a playmaker or left wing attacking midfielder.
The presence of the more experienced Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey as the playmaker as well as Frank Acheampong on the left has pused Sarfo to the right.
However he could switch positions with Acheampong as the Black Stars might be switching players to fool the opponent or get them on the wrong foot.
A starting place in the highly talented Ghana squad is a major boost for the youngster's career as major clubs in Europe to start taking notice.
Sarfo snubbed Sweden last month and pledged his international career to his country of birth Ghana after months of indecision.
The 22-year-old Kumasi-born was being courted by the European country, where he has been the last three years.
Two months ago he was still pondering his international future when he was handed a debut call-up for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia.
He was also part of the squad for the high profile friendly games against Mexico and USA in June but he failed to report.
The Swedish FA moved in quickly to prevent him from playing for the West African nation after his former side IK Sirius applied for a Swedish citizenship for him.
Sarfo began his career with Kumasi-based Anokye Stars.
