
Ghanaian born international Wilson Akakpo has declared his intentions to play for the Hawks of Togo as it becomes increasingly difficult to get a Black Stars call up.
The Al Masry star was born to a Ghanaian father and a Togolese mother and believes he has a brighter chance of enjoying national team football if he switches to play for his motherland.
The former Berekum Chelsea player told Africatopsports that he is attracted to the Sparrow Hawks than the Black Stars.
“I think I will play for Togo. I have my roots there. I am more attracted by the Sparrow Hawks than by the Black Stars,” he said.
The former Ghana U23 star has been an influential player for the Egyptian side and is expected to extend his contract which ends in June.
