Director of Accra Great Olympics, Fred Pappoe has refused to blame player-coach Godwin Attram for the club’s shambolic start to the 2016/17 Ghana Premier League.
Supporters of the club have consistently called on the management to sack the under-performing manager as they fear the Wonder club may be relegated if Attram is still at post.
Olympics have won only just two points out of a possible 18 and occupy the bottom place on the league log.
However, Pappoe believes the problems can be fixed because he sees such problems as normal with team so they would have to be serious in solving them.
“Attram is not the issue. No one is to blame. We must resolve to solve the problems confronting the club. Our forwards need to put the balls at the back of the net.''
“They must score. Our defence must also avoid letting in goals. We will ensure that Olympics stays in the league.''
Pappoe further said Attram’s decision to play and still manage the club, has no negative bearing on the team.
“Attram’s decision to play and coach the club has no negative bearing on the team. When we were playing in Division One, he was playing and managing the club and we won matches.''
“He takes instructions from the assistant coach when he is playing. And there is no problem with that at all. They are professionals so they understand the structures.''
Olympics will play Inter Allies at the Accra Sports Stadium in the match day seven fixture of the Ghana Premier League.
