Accra, April 2, GNA - Ms. Matilda Hammond, a Level 200 student of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), has donated assorted drugs and other items to the institute’s Clinic.
The donation, worth GH¢5,000.00, included; a Water Dispenser, Sony DVD Player, three dustbins and a quantity of drugs.
Ms Hammond, presenting the items, said she was motivated to make the donation as her contribution to the Clinic’s effective health care and sanitation services to students and other members of the school community.
“Health is wealth. And as the ancient Roman expression has it, a healthy mind resides in a healthy body," she said.
She said as members of an intellectual community, their academic performance was enhanced if their bodies were in good hands, hence, the decision to make the donation to the GIMPA Clinic.
The Level 200 student expressed the hope that her kindness would serve as an example to other students to make a difference in the school community and Ghana as a whole.
She, therefore, called on other public-spirited individuals and corporate organisations, who continue to benefit from GIMPA’s expertise to support the GIMPA Clinic and take up other projects on campus.
Dr Daniel Adumuah Nortey, the Medical Director in Charge of the Clinic, who received the items, commended Ms Hammond for the kind gesture in supporting the facility.
He said the water dispenser had come on time, since some patients were made to take some of their drugs before going home and it would help them in that regard.
Professor Philip Ebow Bondzi-Simpson, the Rector of GIMPA commended the student for the support to the institute's Clinic.
