Accra, Nov. 14, GNA - Mr. Barry Rassin, President of Rotary International, has commended the Rotary Club of Accra-Sunrise District 9102, for demonstrating true Rotarian attributes.
"If you have achieved this much within just a year and a half, then I am just imagining how much more you could achieve in the future," Mr. Rassin stated during a visit to the Accra Rehabilitation Centre.
The Centre was undergoing thorough refurbishment by the Rotary Club of Accra-Sunrise District 9102 at an estimated cost of $50,000.
The tour of the centre forms part of Mr. Rassin's activities, during his two-day visit to Ghana.
He said the entire purpose of Rotary was to be of assistance to people, with respect to every human need that could be addressed in this world.
Mr. Rassin said the core mandate of Rotarians, was to spear-head positive causes that improved the lives of people and built a better world as a whole.
"If the rest of the society realizes the good you are doing, they would join in and support a good cause," he said.
Mr. Xorse Godzi, President of Rotary Club of Accra-Sunrise District 9102, said in line with the core mandate of Rotary, the club, which is just over a year old, had embarked on some major refurbishment works at the centre.

Mr. Churchill Darlington, Director of the Centre, said the rehabilitation works had taken care of 60 per cent of the infrastructural needs of the centre.
He appealed to individuals and corporate organizations to come to their aid because the centre, needs a lot of support in both cash and kind, to effectively serve its purpose.
He said the centre, which was set up in 1962, teaches all categories of physically challenged people skills to enable them earn a living.
Some subjects taught at the centre are leather work, carpentry, dress-making and tailoring, and a number of others.
