Baatsonaa (GAR), July 13, GNA - Jehovah Witnesses across the country have commenced their 2018 Regional Conference with a call on members to be steadfast in faith and be courageous to manifest their belief.
The faithful estimated at 88,000, will converge on the next 16 week-ends in 41 major Jehovah Witnesses’ assembly halls across the country.
The Witnesses would in the Greater Accra Region have six conventions; one each in Ga, Dangme, English, French, Twi and Ghanaian Sign Language (GSL) at the Baatsona Assembly Hall.
Mr Philip Brown-Darkwa, Chairman for the Twi Convention ‘A’, opening the ceremony on Friday, encouraged members to be more courageous as the end of human civilisation was drawing near.
Mr Brown-Darkwa indicated that Satan was doing all it could to confuse and intimidate true Christians to abandon their faith hence the need to depend on Jehovah as he was the source of true courage.
Mr Frederick Duodu, Media Service Coordinator for the Conference, told the Ghana News Agency that the convention would empower participants to be steadfast in the teachings of Jehovah in the midst of poverty, illness, family issues, and other social issues.
Mr Duodu added that the Convention was structured to use discussions, video shows, symposiums, and drama to educate the congregants.
Some of the topics to be treated are: "Why true Christians need courage", "Courage weakeners versus courage strengtheners," among others for the youth, parents, couples, and the elderly.
