Bogrekrom (W/R), March 26, GNA - Sunday school children in the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) Judah Temple at Bogrekrom, in the Tarkwa Nsueam constituency on Sunday joined thousands of Christian children across the world to commemorate Palm Sunday.
Even though the youth and elderly observed the day in the church's new auditorium, the children's department had a procession on some principal streets in the Bogrekrom town.
The children together with their teachers sung songs of praises waved flowers and palm branches and also danced to brass band music to remember the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency after the march, President of the children's department, Mrs. Charlotte Yenu, said as children of God, they would continue to celebrate this special day because that was when Jesus Christ sacrificed his live to save mankind.
Mrs Yenu revealed that children have a significant role to play in the kingdom of God.
She, therefore, asked parents who do not attend any church in Bogrekrom and its environs to worship with the ICGC as Christians globally prepare for the Easter festivity.
Mrs Yenu also entreated parents to try as much as possible to bring up their children under the knowledge and fear of God and stressed that that was what God required this from every parent.
The President later led the teachers and children to pray for the residents of Bogrekrom and the nation.
