Hearts thump Liberty Professionals
Accra, Nov. 25, GNA – Accra Hearts of Oak recorded a 2-0 victory over Liberty Professionals in the eighth week Glo Premier League game played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Both goals came in the second half of the game after a tight encounter in the first half, which saw the two sides concentrating much of the action in midfield.
Hearts who were bent on improving their standings on the league table, came into the second half a more determined side and had much of the exchanges.
With swift combination between Laryea Kinston, Mahatma Otoo and Edward Affum, Hearts secured a penalty in the 67th minute, when Affum was brought down by keeper Daniel Nii Adjei.
Ivorian import Reuben Gnagne converted it for the phobians, which paved the way for further dominance over the Dansoman boys.
Hearts capitalized on this dominance to score the second goal through Ashietey Ollenu in the 73rd minute when he tapped in a quick set up by Otoo.
Hearts maintained their hold on the game with occasional threats from Liberty till the close of proceedings.
