NPP will investigate GH¢400,000 missing from Gomoa East Assembly
Gomoa Nyanyano (C/R), Nov 20, GNA - Mr Richmond Sam Quarm, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Gomoa East has said an NPP government would investigate how 400,000 Ghana cedis belonging to the District Assembly was withdrawn from the bank.
He said the missing of that huge amount meant for development denied the people of getting education, health, security and roads projects.
Mr Quarm, who is a former MP for the area, said this at a press conference at Nyanyano Kakraba.
He said the government and other state institutions had been silent since the money got missing in March last year and nobody is being held responsible.
The money, donated by DANIDA for projects in the Gomoa East District, was mysteriously withdrawn by some unknown people from the Assembly’s account at the Agona Swedru branch of the Ghana Commercial Bank last year.
He said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) government had failed Ghanaians and there was the need to reject it on December 7.
Mr Quarm said records from the Gomoa East District Ghana Education Service (GES) showed that pupils’ performance has been very poor over the past four year.
