The former Member of Parliament (MP) for Tamale Central, Inusah Fuseini, has issued an apology to the King of the Mamprugu Kingdom and the youth of Mamprugu regarding his comments on the Bawku conflict.
Mr. Fuseini received backlash from the Mamprugu community about his comments over ongoing dispute between the Kusasis and the Mamprusis, resulting in heated discussions on social media and threats directed at him.
During a discussion on JoyNews’ Newsfile, monitored by DAILY GUIDE, he stated, “Upon deep reflection, I believe I owe the youth of Mamprugu an apology, as well as an apology to the Nayiri and his council of chiefs.”
He noted that his statements about the Bawku conflict were never intended to provoke the Mamprugu Kingdom.
“It was never my intention to provoke you or the entire Mamprugu Kingdom,” he stated.
Mr. Fuseini appealed to the Nayiri and the youth of Mamprugu to accept his apology.
“I pray that my apology will be accepted by the youth of the Mamprusis, the Nayiri, and anyone who has been deeply hurt by my comments, which were intended to promote peace in Bawku,” he stressed.
He described the people of Mamprugu as peace-loving and reiterated that he would never do anything to damage the relationship he has with them.
“Having attended school in Nalerigu and served as a teacher in Walewale, I would be the last person to tarnish the bond I share with the people of Mamprugu,” he pointed out.
