Bobrisky
Nigerian crossdresser and social media personality, Bobrisky, has sworn off accepting awards meant for females, attributing his recent troubles to the “Best Dressed Female” award he received earlier this year.
Bobrisky made the declaration on his Instagram story, reflecting on a string of controversies that began after one actress Eniola Ajao presented him with the award at her movie premiere in March 2024.
The award, which included a ?1 million cash prize, has since been labeled by Bobrisky as the root of his problems.
“My problem started when I collected the Best Dressed Female award with ?1 million prize,” he wrote. “For my life, if I see an award for Best Dressed Female, I go disappear from that location ASAP. Everyone knows the truth that I am a baddie with class… but when the problem wan too much, make I run.”
Shortly after the award ceremony, Bobrisky was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for alleged naira abuse during the event.
The arrest led to a six-month jail sentence. However, the controversy did not end there.
A leaked audio recording later surfaced, in which Bobrisky allegedly boasted about bribing EFCC officials to evade money laundering charges and claimed he served his sentence in a luxury apartment rather than a prison cell.
This revelation reignited public outrage and resulted in his rearrest, deepening the scandal.
Speaking from an undisclosed location after fleeing the country, Bobrisky partially blamed actress Eniola Ajao for his ordeal.
He suggested that accepting the award she presented marked the beginning of his troubles.
Eniola Ajao has yet to respond to Bobrisky’s claims, leaving fans and critics speculating about her involvement, if any, in the saga.
The unfolding drama has sparked widespread discussions on social media, with some criticising Bobrisky’s conduct and others questioning the credibility of the EFCC.
Meanwhile, Bobrisky’s decision to reject future female awards reflects his attempt to distance himself from similar controversies moving forward.
As the crossdresser remains outside Nigeria, his legal battles and public image continue to generate heated debate across the internet.
