The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, has announced that the Kojo Ashong Bridge will reopen to traffic by the end of this weekend.
The bridge was closed for repair works on July 6, 2024, due to its deteriorating condition, which made it unsafe for use.
Heavy-duty vehicles and passenger vehicles were wobbling while crossing the bridge, prompting its closure.
“According to the engineer in charge, by the close of work on July 13, they will open up the bridge for commuters and residents to use the bridge.
“We want to say a big thank you to everybody who contributed to make sure that the maintenance has come on. We will move to Papase bridge, the Afienya one, which is also a great concern to residents in these two areas.
“We’re putting things together to make sure they fix these bridges for our people,” he assured.
