Some exhibitors who have already booked their stands at the ‘This is Ghana Exhibition’ have promised to showcase great products made in Ghana.
The ‘This is Ghana Exhibition’ is an outdoor event which is part of the Citi Business Festival.
The exhibition will come off at the Alisa Hotel on Saturday, June 29.
Speaking to Bernard Avle on the #CitiCBS, the Product Manager of Seytech, a fabrication company, Jeffrey Boakye Appiagyei stated that the event will help change the narrative about authentic made-in-Ghana products.
He maintained that Ghana’s agricultural sector has suffered some setbacks due to the use of imported machines and equipment that do not fit into the country’s geographical setup.
This he said, compelled his company to go into the fabrication of machines and equipment for Ghanaian farmers.
“We lack designers who design Agric machines for our conditions and use. So if it is designed from Czech Republic it’s meant for their agronomy, climate, and use. They don’t understand our system, they don’t understand how our seas look like. They don’t get it all”
Showcasing some of his products, Mr. Appiagyei recalled instances where the company has built specific agro-processing equipment for some farmers across the African continent.
“What you are looking at is a design we modified just for Tanzanian beans because they had more water in their beans and it was bigger, so we have to redesign it. They could have import threshers from Indian at twice the price and it was not going to work because it was going to break their beans,” he told Bernard Avle .
Mr. Appiagyei assured that most of the products will be displayed on Saturday at the ‘This is Ghana Exhibition’ for the public to have a loot at.
