Dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has commended Citi FM for adhering to professional ethics of the broadcasting profession.
In a recent live video he posted on Facebook, the ‘Gringo’ hit maker expressed his disappointment in some people in the media who use their platforms to destroy musicians.
He said some media people are causing more harm to artistes and that they do not even do enough research to help improve on their work.
According to the Shatta Movement boss, the penchant to project the negatives over the good things about artistes is the reason a lot of musicians have died out of the system. He however noted that are other media networks that make sure the right things are done, citing Citi FM as example.
“Check Citi FM. See the way Citi FM dey carry dema sef. Nice, level, you know. Dem no dey even worry dema selves to talk about artistes to get hype for dema station because dema dey do dema work. The CEO for Citi FM, he dey respect e sef f*cking. So if you be presenter wey you come dey and you misbehave, dem go sack you,” he said in Pidgin.
This is not the first time Shatta Wale has registered his displeasure at how the media reports issues about musicians.
He has on many occasions riled the work of bloggers and other media practitioners who either write negative stories about him or criticise him for something he has done.
His video comes two days after his music-rival, Sarkodie tweeted that he would not hesitate to take action against bloggers that report falsehood about him.
Already, some have said Shatta’s video may just be an attempt to kill the attention Sarkodie has courted with his post about bloggers in the past few days.
