The West Akim Municipal Assembly has handed over a newly constructed and fully furnished Kindergarten (KG) block to the Municipal Education Directorate.
The project was necessitated by the growing number of pupils in the Ekoso KG which compelled teachers to combine KG and Class 1 pupils in the same classroom.
The MCE, Seth Oduro Boadu, who pledged to the chiefs, elders and residents of Ekoso to address the challenge commissioned the school structure for use.

The structure has among other things, two classrooms, an office for the head teacher, toilet facilities and a fenced playground.
The facility has also been stocked with furniture for use.
At the handing over ceremony, Mr. Boadu urged the good people of Ekoso to ensure good maintenance practices to prolong the lifespan of the facility.
“This facility is for you and your children yet to be born and since it’s now a property of the community and your children are the direct beneficiaries, I want you all to ensure the strict usage and maintenance of the building.”
The Chief of Ekoso on behalf of the community expressed their profound gratitude to the Municipal Chief Executive.
“I want to assure you that the community will ensure that the facility is maintained for generations yet unborn, to also benefit from it. This is something which is very dear to my heart so I will take a special interest in it to see to it that it is properly maintained”.
The MCE also presented 120 pieces of chairs and 20 tables to the headmaster of Topease KG, another community in the West Akim Municipality which was in dire need of resources.
Topease KG was an educational project that was constructed and commissioned by the Assembly in October to enhance teaching and learning.
