Auto mechanic dies in fatal accident on Dzodze-Akatsi road

One person has died with others injured when a pickup vehicle with three persons on-board to Dzodze, collided with a cargo truck at, Kave junction on the Dzodze- Akatsi road in the Ketu North District of the Volta Region.

The fatal accident according to an eyewitness happened at about 5:30 Wednesday evening, when the driver of the pickup with registration number GR 7027-11, skidded off his lane to collide with an oncoming cargo truck on the other lane.

It is unclear what might have caused the pickup driver to abandon his lane, but eyewitness at the scene told Citi News he appeared to have lost control of the steering wheel.

The pickup driver; who was only identified as an auto mechanic, died on the spot leaving the two other passengers severely injured.

The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the morgue, whiles the injured are receiving treatment at the St Anthony’s Hospital in Dzodze.
