Medeama reclaimed top spot in the Premier League (GPL) after a hard-fought away victory, as Kotoko and Aduana FC settled for a draw, Heart of Lions continued their impressive resurgence, and Basake Holy Stars produced one of the most dramatic finishes of the weekend on matchday 10, Sunday, 16 November 2025.
Medeama SC returned to the summit with a gritty 2-1 win over bottom-placed Eleven Wonders. Godknows Dzakpasu opened the scoring for the former champions, before Daniel Lomotey — who had earlier missed a penalty — struck the equaliser for the hosts, who remain winless.
Nana Kofi Babil then delivered a composed finish to seal the victory and keep Medeama’s title ambitions firmly on course.
In Kpando, Heart of Lions extended their unbeaten run to four matches with a 2-0 win over Young Apostles. Michael Ephson broke the deadlock with a fine strike, and an Issah Nyaabila own goal later ensured the points, lifting Lions into the upper tier of the table.
Lions now share top spot with Medeama on 21 points and a goal difference of nine. Aduana Stars sit third on 20 points, with Bibiani GoldStars in fourth on 19 — underlining the fiercely competitive nature of this season’s title race.
Bechem United also impressed, climbing out of the relegation zone with a 2-0 win over FC Samartex, courtesy of an Emmanuel Abban brace. In another lively contest, Berekum Chelsea edged Nations FC 2-1, with Shaibu Fuseini and Marvin Owusu scoring for the home side and Samuel Tetteh replying for the visitors.
Dreams FC maintained their strong home form at the Tuba AstroTurf, defeating Hohoe United 1-0 through Jonathan Nemorden’s decisive strike, keeping the ‘Still Believe’ side unbeaten at home.
Champions Bibiani GoldStars continued their home dominance with a narrow 1-0 victory over Karela United. Burkinabe midfielder Razack Sanou scored the winning goal to keep GoldStars firmly in the title conversation.
The weekend’s standout drama unfolded at the AAK Sports Arena, where Basake Holy Stars clawed back from behind to draw 2-2 with Vision FC. Prince Tweneboah put Holy Stars ahead before Abdul Sumaila and Sherif Mohammed Iddrisu turned the game in Vision’s favour. But deep into stoppage time, Bismark Tey struck a sensational 96th-minute equaliser to rescue a precious point.
At the Baba Yara Stadium, Asante Kotoko and Aduana FC shared the spoils in a tense 1-1 draw. Emmanuel Marfo gave Aduana an early lead, but Lord Amoah levelled before the break — a result that leaves both sides close to the summit but missing the opportunity to leapfrog Medeama.
Matchday 10 concludes with Medeama leading the pack, Heart of Lions rising steadily, and Eleven Wonders anchored at the bottom, as the race at both ends of the table continues to intensify.
